About.
Here is a lot about me!
I'm a student at the University of Chicago, double-majoring in Anthropology and Music with a minor in Entrepreneurship & Innovation. I am from Shanghai, China, and came to the states since I was 15. I speak English, Chinese, and Japanese, and French!
I am passionate about introducing Asian musicians ā Japanese artists in particular ā to Western entertainment markets. As I explore paths across live performance, sync licensing, and A&R, I am deeply fascinated by how artists use social media to directly engage fans and cultivate dedicated, cross-cultural communities online.
Outside of music, Iām an avid traveler, foodie, home baker (anything non-fermentation related), and scuba diver!
Consulting for ZICCA Inc. on social campaigns and EU/US album distributions for Ichika Nito and Mateus Asato. Producing communications assets for UChicago's Reva and David Logan Center of the Arts.
Running MBO, UChicago's first music business student organization.
Booking travel for friends through Fora. Writing a thesis on Chinese online fan communities of Japanese celebrities.
